RELATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions and relations between colleagues are at the heart of our CSR commitment. We strive for a quality working environment, based on respect, to ensure the success of our company. The well-being and development of our employees are at the forefront of our CSR approach. We strive to maintain fair and transparent working relationships. Our aim is to implement ethical and socially responsible practices that benefit everyone.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
We are convinced that training, prevention and the improvement of working conditions are essential to guarantee the well-being of our employees and the quality of our working environment.
Occupational health and safety training
Formations de sécurité et de santé au travail :
We have put in place a comprehensive range of occupational health and safety training courses, accessible to all our staff. With particular emphasis on training for forklift truck operators and crane operators, we also contribute to protecting the physical integrity of our employees by training them in the gestures and postures essential to manual handling.
Galva Métal and GAT are at the forefront of this approach, with 100% of employees trained as Sauveteurs Secouristes du Travail (SST) for over 10 years, and by 2025 we aim to extend this approach to the whole Group. In terms of equipment, we have installed a defibrillator at the Galva Métal site, and all our employees have been trained in its use. This last point underlines our commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
Objective 100% SST by 2025
Communication and awareness-raising
Every week, we hold SQCDP-type meetings (Safety, Quality, Costs, Deadlines, Personnel), which enable us to focus on different topics or define objectives, depending on current events. Our objectives are clear in terms of safety: to remind people of the challenges and safety rules in place, to inform them about our safety-oriented purchasing and to encourage a culture of vigilance and excellence.
Occupational risk assessment
We have begun the process of modernizing and standardizing our Document Unique (DU) d’Évaluation des Risques Professionnels (EvRP) across all our sites. At Galvamétal, an exhaustive document of around 100 pages has already been drawn up, and an HSE work-study student at the Institut d’Hygiène Industrielle et de l’Environnement d’Angers (IHIE-CNAM) is actively involved in its transformation within the QSE department. Deployment of this common tool will begin at Écouflant and will gradually be extended to the whole Group.
Investments in collective security
We have invested in systems to extract and treat the fumes and vapors from our treatment baths, protecting both our employees and the environment. All our treatment and galvanizing baths are now equipped with this technology.
Ergonomics and personal protective equipment
We have improved the ergonomics of workstations with adjustable supports and lifting accessories, in partnership with CARSAT. Safety also involves equipment: helmets, goggles and custom molded earplugs are supplied to maximize our employees’ comfort and protection.
